Grant of SSOE's Columbus Office Becomes a LEED® Accredited Professional

COLUMBUS, Ohio May 26, 2009- SSOE, Inc., one of the nation's largest architecture and engineering firms, announcesZach Granthas earned LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) by passing the LEED for New Construction Exam. The LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential designates that the individual has the knowledge and skills to facilitate the LEED certification process. The LEED green building rating system promotes the practices of sustainable design, addressing all building types, and focusing on sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials and resource selection, and indoor environmental quality.

Zach Grant, EI, LEED AP, Civil Engineer, joined SSOE in May of 2004 as an intern and 18 months later started a full-time career with the company after graduating from The University of Toledo with a Bachelors of Civil Engineering Degree. He is currently an EI (Engineer-Intern) and is working towards obtaining his Professional Engineering License (PE). As a civil engineer, Grant is responsible for conceptual and detailed site grading, site and utility layout, and 3D surface modeling. He also assists in project management and coordination with other disciplines.
