Great Basin Federal Credit Union Staff Raises $328 for Children’s Miracle Network

Great Basin Federal Credit Union recently participated in the Credit Unions for Kids “Miracle Jeans Day” campaign, a fundraising effort for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, a charity that raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals.

RENO, NEV. —Great Basin Federal Credit Union recently participated in the Credit Unions for Kids "Miracle Jeans Day" campaign, a fundraising effort for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, a charity that raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals. All funds raised by Great Basin Federal Credit Union will benefit Renown Hospital, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

Credit Union staff donated cash and were able to wear jeans for the day; a tactic which brought awareness to the campaign.  Employees also asked members for donations throughout the Miracle Jeans Day. Nearly $330 was raised in just one day by the small staff and members.



"People Helping People" is the credit union industry's motto, and Great Basin Federal Credit Union demonstrates that philosophy throughout the year.  In fact, this is not the first time Great Basin Federal Credit Union and its members have raised funds for Renown Children's Hospital through the Credit Unions for Kids program which benefits Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.   

In the past, Great Basin Federal Credit Union has participated in Dollar Auctions, "Change a Child's Life" and other campaigns to benefit the sick and injured kids being treated at Renown Children’s Hospital. Overall, the credit union movement has raised over $80 million dollars for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 1996.

Great Basin Federal Credit Union was established in 1951 as a 50 member credit union open to employees of the Reno-Bell Phone Company. In the past 59 years, Great Basin Federal Credit Union has grown to over 14,000 members and over $100 million in assets. Membership is open to anyone living or working in Washoe County.
