Group Health and The Everett Clinic Form Affiliation for Health Care Improvement

Group Health Cooperative and The Everett Clinic are going to work more closely together to coordinate the delivery of health care in Snohomish and north King counties.
According to a joint news release, "the two organizations will work to improve the ability to share clinical information, align care practices and procedures, and plan for more effective and efficient health care delivery in the region."

Both organizations have received national recognition for efficiently delivering high quality care. Group Health has pioneered innovations like the medical home and electronic access to health records and information for patients, while The Everett Clinic has received national attention for its efforts to reduce the number of unnecessary advanced imaging tests and to control drug costs.
In a first step, the two organizations announced that patients who now have doctors from The Everett Clinic will be able to choose coverage under Group Health Cooperative's Clear Care Medicare Advantage HMO plan effective Jan. 1, 2011.
As part of this new affiliation, Group Health and The Everett Clinic will also look at the potential for combining resources for joint expansion projects throughout the region.
