Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm is offering its handheld Gigabit Ethernet tester used for the installation and maintenance of 10M/100M/1000M Ethernet Networks. The tester performs network testing, data packet capture, traffic generation, line testing, BER testing and RFC-2544 benchmark testing. It also conducts connectivity tests including Ping, Trace and ARP Scan.
This handheld Gigabit Ethernet tester, model 5850, complies with IEEE 802.3, RFC1242 and RFC2544 standards. It has dual RJ45 ports supporting 10/100/1000Base-T and dual SFP ports supporting 1000Base-SX/LX/ZX. The tester identifies cable faults such as short circuit or open circuit and also determines cable length. It has LED status indicators for Power, Port1 link/active, Port2 link/active and fault indication. The unit has external USB drive for data exchange. Test results are shown on a colorful LCD screen in text or graphic format. This tester is an ideal tool for the front-line field worker to analyzer networks and to locate faults rapidly.
