Williams, co-founder of Boston-based MedPharma Partners LLC, focuses on healthcare business and IT issues in his popular Health Business Blog. Williams interviews leaders in the healthcare industry, many of them health IT executives, for his podcast series. The series has recently featured patient safety pioneer Dr. Bob Wachter, Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine at University of California San Francisco, Zynx Health CEO Dr. Scott Weingarten and PatientKeeper CEO Paul Brient.

In 2000, Kumar founded Quantros, Inc., a provider of web-based software and related services to healthcare organizations in the areas of patient safety, clinical performance improvement and accreditation and compliance. Drawing on his extensive background, Kumar directed his medical training, experience in direct patient care and biostatistical data management and analysis training towards developing a solution that would impact the health and safety of the greatest number of people.

Kumar serves on numerous quality improvement committees, task forces and working groups including the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management Data Safety Committee and the National Patient Safety Foundation Safety Product Vendor Selection Criteria Committee. Last October, Kumar joined San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's trip to Bangalore as part of the San Francisco-Bangalore Sister City Initiative to promote business and cultural ties between the two cities.
