Heather Dean named Chief Financial Officer for National School Boards Association

Alexandria, Va. (July 17, 2014) -- Association finance professional Heather Dean has joined the National School Boards Association (NSBA) as Assistant Executive Director for Finance and Administration. In this role, Dean will function as Chief Financial Officer and will supervise NSBA’s finance, information technologies, and office services departments.

“I am very pleased to welcome Heather to the NSBA family,” said NSBA Executive Director Thomas J. Gentzel. “Her considerable experience in both non-profit and for-profit sectors will be a tremendous asset to NSBA.”

A Certified Public Accountant, Dean has more than 15 years of experience in finance, as well as experience in managing data, office services, human relations, information technologies, and field services.

Most recently, Dean was the Deputy Executive Director, Programs and Operations for the National PTA. She also worked with Siemens Energy as a Sarbanes Oxley Officer and Senior Financial Analyst, Manger of Financial Reporting for the National Rifle Association and auditor for a Big Four accounting firm. Dean began her role at NSBA in July 2014.

Dean earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Gettysburg College.
