Hewlett-Packard is launching another product which will add to its portfolio of cloud-related offerings, according to the company, the product is aimed at enterprises and will be launched next month.

The company is planning to launch further computing systems which can be used internally and will interoperate with its current cloud offering, according to Bill Veghte, HP executive vice president overseeing software and solutions. He added that a series of workshops aimed at aiding organizations in developing cloud strategies would also be launched in the forthcoming future.

In a statement, Ann Livermore, the executive vice president for HP Enterprise Business, said that HP was leading its clients through the transformation to cloud computing with its breadth of portfolio, enterprise experience and global service delivery organization.

The company is calling the service, HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Compute, and claims that it will offer computational services to organisations via two HP data centres. One of the centres is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the other is situated in Wynyard, in the United Kingdom. UK customers will be able to choose their own specific cloud platform, which may be Windows Azure or a virtual program.

Mr Veghte has not yet unveiled the pricing plan, except to say that prices will be based on the number of MIPS (million instructions per second) consumed. As well as the length of contract and number of services used.
