Barney Stykes might just be the only person in the world who has such as great number of training certifications while not actually holding down a job. He has diligently worked on completing the coursework, and passing the certification tests, for all manner of training certificates since he was a sophomore in high school. In fact, Barney wants the Guinness World Records committee to convene as soon as possible and make a new category just to acknowledge his accomplishments.

“Right now, I'm finishing up the requirement for my Microsoft Online IT Training course. The online classes are my favorites. I can work ahead if I want so I can finish up my requirements as early as possible and go on to my next certificate,” Barney carefully explained as he showed a visitor the detailed list he keeps of his previously awarded certificates.

The Microsoft Online IT Training certificate will be his record breaking 867th certificate. He is confident that this certificate above all will be the one that will help most in his future employment search.

Barney keeps each of his certificates neatly stored in eight three-ring binders. He is close to filling another three-ring binder and thinks he will be able to do so within the next week or two. He meticulously keeps count of all the certificates he has in each binder, allowing only 100 of them in each one. Ever the organized learner, Barney keeps a sheet of paper with the name of each certificate that was awarded to him in the front of its respective binder.

He is most proud of his technical certificates, such as the Microsoft Online IT training he has almost completed. As he has gained more experience with completing the coursework required for these certificates, Barney has expanded his range. First dabbling in coursework such as Oil Painting for Dummies and Crocheting for People With Only Thumbs, Barney has moved to technical courses with an eye to his future.

“When I graduate high school next spring, I want to be able to move right into the work force and get a job that brings me six figures. But that is my backup plan. My real goal is to have a business startup discover me for my creative genius and make me the head of their creative team. After all, who else do you know from a little town like Saltville, North Dakota has ideas like mine? I am well on my way to becoming a unique part of history in the Guinness World Records and all because of my brilliant mind,” Barney stated as he prepared a new binder to receive his next 100 certificates.
