Bredeson Outdoor Adventures, an outfitter hosting four season tours in Europe, North America and beyond, is announcing a August 24 - September 2 guided departure for this magnificent, classic Chamonix to Zermatt trek.

Norwalk, CT, April 29, 2011 (PressReleasePoint) -- Bredeson Outdoor Adventures, an outfitter hosting four season tours in Europe, North America and beyond, is announcing an August 24 - September 2 guided departure for this magnificent. The Hiker’s Haute Route is one of the world’s classic, and challenging, treks. The Route was established almost a hundred years ago, first as a ski route. It was later developed into a high-level hike. The hike links the two famous birth places of mountaineering in the Alps, Chamonix and Zermatt, each with its own fascinating history. The Route connecting these busy Alpine centers of activity contains numerous quaint and quiet villages, which hikers will pass through. Participants will have glimpses into two countries (France and Switzerland), as well as into two linguistic areas (French and German) of the Swiss canton of Valais. They’ll get to see an amazing array of over four thousand meter peaks on this trek, starting with Mont Blanc in the Chamonix Valley and culminating with the Matterhorn in Zermatt, that most hypnotic of mountains. This ten day public, guided departure is taking place August 24 - September 2, 2011. Bredeson Outdoor Adventures also offers self-guided and private guided Haute Route departures. Additionally, those interested in slightly greater creature comforts and more moderate hikes can choose more moderate hiking itineraries with day hikes based out of Chamonix, Champex, Verbier and Zermatt, the primary towns connected by the Haute Route.

Haute route trekkers will have the opportunity to experience this incredible landscape on foot under the inspired leadership of a fabulous local guide. Bredeson Outdoor Adventures’ guide is a certified European Mountain Leader and a member of the prestigious Compagnie des Guides.

The land cost for this 10 day trip is $3,200 per person double occupancy for 8 guests and $3400 for 4-7 guests with a $400 single supplement. Full details are posted on the Bredeson Outdoor Adventures' web site at http://www.bredeson.com/outdoor_adventures/hikes/h...
