Holocentric Appoints Bruce Nixon As CEO
Experienced Industry Executive to Lead Australian Enterprise Modelling Software Company's Growth Within Australia and Internationally
Sydney, Australia., December 15, 2008 "(PressReleasePoint)" -- Leading Australian enterprise modelling software provider, Holocentric, has announced that it has appointed experienced software industry executive Bruce Nixon as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Nixon, who reports to the board of directors, takes over from Holocentric's founder, John Forrest, who moves from CEO to Chairman. Nixon, based in North Sydney, was formerly Holocentric's Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Nixon has a brief to implement Holocentric's strategic plan, leading an expansion both within Australia and internationally.
The company's strategy builds on the success of customers which have experienced significant business benefits through implementing Holocentric Modeler for knowledge mapping, business process integration and technology transformation. One of Nixon's first initiatives is to expand the Holocentric team with greater emphasis on customer-facing sales and consulting staff.
"Our customers all gain business benefits by empowering their people," he said. "Holocentric becomes a key communications tool, publishing web-based business models to describe their people, processes and technology. They don't need to waste time building PowerPoints or Word reports any more to describe the business.
"My goal as CEO is to build a company that educates organisations about the benefits of enterprise modelling and helps them implement successful solutions," he said.
"The appointment of Bruce Nixon, with a successful track record of growing software companies, completes Holocentric's transition to a commercially focused, sales and marketing led, organisation," said John Forrest, Chairman for Holocentric. "My task is to continue to ensure that Holocentric operates effectively to increase shareholder value and is positioned as a provider of innovative solutions which utilise our outstanding technology assets to shape and respond to emerging market trends."
Nixon has worked in the IT industry since 1975 with experience including technical roles, customer service, sales, marketing and general management. Early in his career he worked at Myer, Telstra and Australia Post in development and architecture roles before joining a supplier of software development tools in the late 1980s. In 1991, Nixon opened the Sydney office of Advanced Software Engineering (ASE), the Australian distributor of Micro Focus. The business was sold to Micro Focus in 1998, with Nixon remaining as Managing Director of Micro Focus Australia until 2000. He joined Holocentric in 2003.
Nixon holds a Bachelor of Science (major in Computer Science) from Monash University.
