Hopkins Forest Closed Nov. 29 - Dec. 11 for Massachusetts Deer Hunting Season
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., Nov. 22, 2010 –Hopkins Forestwill be closed during the Massachusetts deer hunting season Nov. 29 – Dec. 11, except for Sunday, Dec. 5.
Everyone is welcome to resume using the forest for hiking, jogging and cross-country skiing following the 12-day hunting period.
During deer hunting season, if you are walking or jogging on any back roads or trails it is always advisable to wear brightly colored clothes as there could be hunters nearby.
Hopkins Forest is located at the intersection of Northwest Hill Road and Bulkley Street in Williamstown, Mass. The reserve, managed by theWilliams CollegeCenter for Environmental Studies, spans more than 2,500 acres in Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont.

Founded in 1793,Williams Collegeis the second oldest institution of higher learning in Massachusetts.
