Lancashire Walks and Wildlife magazine launch their year list for 2013 and ask local residents to get involved in collating wildlife sightings from across the county.

Lancashire, UK, January 16, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - Residents across the county are being asked to keep their eyes peeled when it comes to local wildlife in 2013, as Lancashire Walks and Wildlife magazine launch their campaign to keep track of the region’s natural environment.

The publication will be collating Lancashire wildlife sightings from across the county throughout 2013 for their year list and want local residents to get involved.

A brand new publication, Lancashire Walks and Wildlife aims to encourage people to get the most from their region’s countryside, showcasing country walks and exploring local wildlife in every issue, while also featuring expert advice, reviews and competitions.

Sightings will be published both in the magazine and online so readers can be kept up to date with some of the wonderful species spotted in the county.

Andrew Barton, Lancashire Walks and Wildlife editor, said:
“We’re delighted to be starting the Lancashire wildlife year list for 2013.

“Lancashire is home to some great wildlife and we’d love to get as many sightings of different species as we can this year, so we’re encouraging the people of Lancashire to get involved and let us know what they’ve seen and where.

“The Lancashire Walks and Wildlife staff will be out and about too looking for sightings to add to the list.”

There are some simple rules: for a sighting to make it onto the Lancashire wildlife year list, all submissions must be wild, free and alive and you must have seen it yourself in Lancashire or the surrounding areas between 1 January and 31 December 2013.

Andrew continued:
“We can’t wait to hear what people have spotted in the local area.”
