REAL Trends released the 2009 REAL Trends 25 research report which lists the 25 largest housing services firms in the United States from their survey of over 800 leading residential brokerage firms. The ranking identifies the largest diversified real estate service providers that reported at least one settlement service in addition to brokerage.

The REAL Trends 25 was created from 2009 production data reported in the 2009 REAL Trends 500 a compilation of a nationwide study of leading residential real estate companies conducted by REAL Trends, the trusted source for useful and timely information. Submissions for the REAL Trends 500 are verified by sources outside the firm.

Ranking number four (up from number five last year) was Pittsburgh-based Hanna Holdings, Inc. with 32,512 transactions and 20,278 settlement services transactions for a total of 52,790. Hanna has 131 offices across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and New York. Their other rankings, based on 2008 production, are as follows:

* 7th largest real estate title & closing company ranked by closed title units. – up from 10th last year.

* 7th largest real estate insurance company ranked by number of policies sold.
