“IDC Financial Insights’ FinTech Rankings is an important aspect of our data-driven strategy, and supports our goal of providing the highest quality information to the banks, insurance companies, and capital markets firms that rely on us to guide their buying decisions every day,” said Jerry Silva, Research Director, IDC Financial Insights.  “The breadth and depth of our industry expertise in global financial services, coupled with results of the annual FinTech Rankings, help us arm our institution clients with the insight needed to drive strategic IT investment decisions.  With 3rd party spending accounting for 45% of total global IT spending in financial services today, it’s critical for our clients to be as well informed as possible to guide every dollar they spend.”

Now in its 11th year, the FinTech Rankings categorize and evaluate technology providers based on calendar year revenues from financial institutions for hardware, software and/or services. Two categories of companies are ranked:

  • FinTech Rankings – includes vendors that derive more than one-third of their revenue from financial institutions.
  • Enterprise Companies in FinTech – includes enterprise companies serving multiple industries that derive less than one-third of their revenues from financial institutions.
