IDC today confirmed that its widely respected Cloud Computing and Datacenter Roadshow will make a welcome return to Morocco later this year, with the event slated for October 21 at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca. This pioneering full-day conference will present a holistic 360-degree view of cloud computing and the datacenter, encompassing key aspects such as overall adoption trends and dynamics, economics and cost optimization, management, capacity planning, business continuity, and key implementation strategies.
IDC research shows that worldwide spending on public IT cloud services is currently growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.4%, more than five times the rate of the IT industry as a whole. Indeed, with companies increasingly shifting to the cloud services model, their expenditure in this regard will approach $100 billion in 2016, up from $40 billion in 2012. And emerging markets such as Morocco are playing a key role in driving this growth, with their share of cloud spending set to reach 24.9% in 2016, accounting for almost 30% of net-new public IT cloud services spending growth.
"Emerging markets represent a huge opportunity for vendors operating in the cloud services space," says Ouafa Kathir, country manager at IDC North and Francophone Africa. "Morocco is no different, and we are delighted to be bringing the Cloud Computing and Datacenter Roadshow back to the country for another installment. The aim of the roadshow is to facilitate all-important dialogue between the country's IT end-user community and the vendors that serve it. This has the twin benefits of enabling end users to enhance their understanding of cloud and datacenter technologies, while vendors can develop mindshare with a hugely influential audience that is responsible for shaping the country's strategic IT investment landscape."
The attendees will cover Morocco's entire vertical spectrum, including banking and finance, telecommunications, government, oil and gas, healthcare, manufacturing, and many more. Featuring a compelling mix of insightful presentations, end-user case studies, interactive panel discussions, and unrivalled networking opportunities, IDC's Cloud Computing and Datacenter Roadshow 2014 will enable vendors to increase their sales leads, enhance their brand positioning, and develop exciting new relationships that last long into the future.
