Because thousands of artist promos, songs and other forms of media are uploaded and shared through various Internet portals every single second, it can be difficult for artists to get noticed. In fact, Mark Crutch, owner of Inartmedia.com, calls it “an almost impossible feat”.
“Today, more than 48 hours (two days worth) of artist promos, songs, media are uploaded and advertised to video, music, photo, social, and community sharing sites every minute,” Crutch said.
These problematic statistics are the reason why Crutch is now using his company to promote filmmakers and musicians using Foursquare.com. Information posted at Wikipedia.com describes Foursquare as a location-oriented social networking client where people can “check in” at nearby venues based on GPS technology used by Smart Phones. By checking in, users are able to earn points and badges.
According to Crutch, the information overload found online makes it equally as hard for the public to find what they want to see and hear because it is likely buried too deep.
“Inartmedia tackles the problem from both supply and the demand,” Crutch said. “We supply film and music artists wit the promotion power to aggregate their art to the world. We feed the public demand by promoting artist genre-specific content to a genre-specific audience.”
Crutch says Inartmedia is the premiere company for empowering the independent Promote Artist sprit. In addition to its online promotional platform, they are leveraging offline Foursquare venue spots as drop-off locations where artists can drop off their promotional media.
Film and listen to music indie artists can look up Inartmedia’s offline Foursquare venue drop-off locations a few different ways.
They are listed on each member profile at Inartmedia.com. They can also be found on Inartmedia’s Foursquare.com page. A person may also check in at any location to see if they are on Inartmedia’s approved drop-off tip list. For more information visit Inartmedia.com.
