New York, NY(April 21, 2009) - Long-time industry veteran Joseph Genovesi (47) has joined Studley’s Midtown Manhattan office as an executive managing director. Mr. Genovesi comes to Studley after a combined 19 years at his own commercial real estate firm, DG HART Associates, and as vice chairman of NAI New York, a division of NAI Global Real Estate Services.
Mr. Genovesi brings to the firm 20-plus years of experience representing tenants from high-profile industries with their commercial real estate requirements.
“This is an ideal time to join Studley,” shared Mr. Genovesi. “Though the economy is in a downturn right now, Studley, a privately held firm focused on advocating on behalf of tenants, will thrive. It’s a well-run business with unmatched intellectual capital.”
Mr. Genovesi started his commercial real estate career at Gronich & Co. and then moved to Cushman & Wakefield before founding his own firm in 1990, which is now NAI New York.
“He is not only has an expert in commercial real estate,” noted Mitchell Steir, Studley chairman and CEO, “but, having also owned his own business, he understands the decision-making processes of senior-level executives within companies—a perspective that enables him to better serve his clients. We are thrilled to have him here at Studley.”
Some of Mr. Genovesi’s most notable transactions were on behalf of clients: Cossette Communications, Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts (KKR), RHI Entertainment, and Saint Vincents Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center.
He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) committee member for seminars. Mr. Genovesi is also the co-chair of the Xavier Business Council, his NYC high school alma mater, and participates with the Children’s Health Fund and Open Door Family Medical Centers charities.
Mr. Genovesi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics from CUNY Brooklyn.
