Key strengths of the school

  • Kind and considerate children who confidently work well together.
  • Children’s progress and attainment in English language and mathematics.
  • Strong additional support for children and their families.

We discussed with staff and the education authority how they might continue to improve the school and nursery class. This is what we agreed with them.

  • Involve the nursery more in the life and work of the school.
  • Continue to develop the curriculum across the nursery and primary stages to ensure coherence and progression in learning.
  • Develop robust self-evaluation to ensure improvement and leadership for learning.

What happens at the end of the inspection?

We are satisfied with the overall quality of provision. We are confident that most of the school’s self-evaluation processes are leading to improvements. Our Area Lead Officer will work with South Lanarkshire Council to build capacity for improvement and will maintain contact to monitor progress. Parents will be informed of the extent to which the school and nursery centre has improved.
