Calgary, Alberta --- March 6, 2014 --- SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA) and National Reprographics Inc. (NRI) have announced an agreement that further enables both companies to offer compelling collaboration solutions to the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. Solutions include rental equipment options and real time collaboration between jobsites and engineering teams as well as the Williams Scotsman techsuite™ product. Techsuite™ is a modular unit that comes fully equipped with technology solutions and equipment bundles.

NRI, established in 1898, is the innovative leader in providing On-Site Services solutions to the AEC industry. Their leased and rental equipment solutions enable firms of all sizes to embrace the latest technology without the significant capital expenditure required for such purchases. NRI’s extensive reach in the AEC industry includes many of the leading architects and engineers as well as contractors they serve directly or through their exclusive technology partnership with Williams Scotsman via the techsuite™ program.

“NRI is excited to add SMART products to the collaboration solutions we currently provide to many firms throughout the AEC industry,” says Doug Magid, President, NRI. “Including SMART as a techsuite™ solution and introducing their products to our extensive AEC client list will drive better, real-time, collaboration and coordination between the jobsite and design and engineering firms.”

SMART collaboration solutions work with the leading AEC industry titles including Autodesk® Navisworks®, Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® AutoCAD®, Bluebeam, Adobe® Acrobat® and Tekla® BIMsight®, to enable increased efficiency and enhanced workflows for the AEC community. Users have the ability to control and edit files directly on SMART Board® interactive displays to enhance collaboration and problem solving during coordination reviews. The use of these AEC applications with SMART Boards facilitate immersive collaboration by enabling real-time interaction with content and design and construction teams.

“SMART collaboration solutions help architecture, engineering and construction organizations identify design issues sooner, enhance existing workflows, and reduce costs,” says Rick Kennedy, Business Development Director, AEC for SMART Technologies. “The integration of our solutions with industry-leading organizations like NRI further demonstrates our belief in the profound business value of improved collaboration in the AEC sector.”

According to a recent research study conducted by the Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE) at Stanford University, using SMART collaboration solutions in construction and design companies can reduce latency of communication, lead to a better understanding of client requirements, better engage team members and improve quality conformance. The partnership with NRI and the Williams Scotsman techsuite program further expands SMART solutions for the AEC industry.
