Company to Share Best Practices for Implementing Enterprise Energy Management for District Energy Systems 

CHICAGO (May 28, 2014) – Improving operational efficiency and minimizing energy and maintenance costs are common goals among university campuses, utilities and other organizations globally. Providing insight on how to achieve and surpass energy efficiency goals, InStep Software will share best practices for implementing an enterprise energy management solution at IDEA’s 105th Annual Conference & Trade Show.

The well-known event takes place June 8-11 in Seattle at the Washington State Convention Center and is designed to foster discussions about community-based energy systems. As part of the Utilities Master Planning track, InStep Software will explain how to leverage current technologies to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements during a session at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10. The presentation will highlight the implementation process for an enterprise energy management solution and the roles of a data historian, utility billing and predictive analytics software in a comprehensive solution. Prevalent challenges, including limited resources and various disparate data sources that are not easily integrated, will also be addressed.

The presentation will reference specific case studies and results that include: centralized data management, process improvements, increased metering and billing accuracy, early notification of anomalies, ability to assess the health and performance of critical assets and greater involvement in conservation initiatives.
