Inter Access delivers ‘New Way of Working’ infrastructure to municipality of Leiden

Hilversum, Leiden, 14 April 2010 – The municipality of Leiden has deployed a new collaboration environment, which was delivered and installed by Inter Access. The system is based on Microsoft SharePoint. It offers collaboration portals where employees can share information, create documents and control the progress of projects and processes.

In 2009, Inter Access executed a Proof of Concept in Leiden with Microsoft SharePoint as collaboration platform. By starting with a Proof of Concept, the municipality was able to gain experience without high costs before deciding to implement the solution. Inter Access used the IMPACT 2.0 methodology for the Proof of Concept. This is a structured way to implement the New Way of Working approach in organizations. New Way of Working entails a new approach to collaboration in organizations, supported by the latest technology. Employees and organizations are more flexible with regard to working hours and workspace. For instance, employees are able to work independent of time and location. This stimulates productivity as well as employee satisfaction.

The town of Leiden deploys the Microsoft SharePoint environment in the cloud via Microsoft Online Services. This offers employees all the functionality of SharePoint, Office Communication Server, Exchange and Live Meeting without an increase in management tasks. All functionality is available through the internet. Inter Access is responsible for managing the system.
