Project at Europ Assistance nominated for ‘Best ICT project of the year’

Hilversum, 25 July 2011 – ICT services provider Inter Access has been nominated for a Computable Award in the category ‘Best ICT project of the year’. Inter Access entered an application project at Europ Assistance, an emergency services provider, for a nomination. The readers of the Computable trade magazine have nominated this project, together with four other projects. Readers can vote on projects in eleven categories until 16 September 2011.

Europ Assistance is a worldwide company in insurance and emergency and care services. The company assists people 365 day per year, 24 hours a day in case of emergency abroad and in their home country. Europ Assistance offers its services among others to companies in the automotive, travel and insurance industry.

After various mergers, Europ Assistance had to deal with many different business processes and disparate systems. The company hired Inter Access for the Application United project. The purpose was to create a simplified, unified application landscape for the various services. Europ Assistance wanted to solve operational bottlenecks and improve the support of its organization strategy.

Inter Access designed and integrated a midoffice. This links the front office that deals with customer contacts and the back office where administrative processing takes place. In this way, Europ Assistance is able to support the full chain of emergency services in an integrated way. Since the deployment, Europ Assistance is able to process all invoices at its financial department with twelve fte’s less staff.

Additionally, integration has led to more speed and higher quality of the core processes. Europ Assistance is now capable of ‘management by exception’. The midoffice is able to separate the exceptions from the main stream activities. Furthermore, Europ Assistance now has a business intelligence tool with which its customers can analyze the activities they have delegated to Europ Assistance.
