Building on the success of last year, Rabobank, AkzoNobel, Unilever, ADC Performance Improvement, NEVI and IDH are organizing on December 15&16 in the RAI in Amsterdam the second International Supply Management Congress. This congress aims to accelerate sustainability in value chains.

It is an established fact that value chains only be transformed into sustainable value chains if all the involved parties join forces and work together. For example, this is why Rabobank formulated five directional Food & Agribusiness Principles.

Make your company 21st-century-proof
More than a decade into the 21st century, we are in the midst of a new global society. Players from developing and emerging countries are taking over market leadership in various sectors. Financial markets have lost much of their credibility, and new sources for potential growth are being sought out in new areas, such as bio-based commodities, food security, and climate change. The economic, political and physical vulnerability of the developed world became apparent, affecting energy supply and impacting value chains and stock prices.

Suppliers and customers are now innovating together to seek more growth by focusing on efficiency, productivity, and stability. Public and private sectors are in new partnerships to address the scarcity of resources, human rights issues, and global welfare.

  • How 21st-century-proof is your company?
  • Where is your future growth?
  • Is your value chain ready for a changing world?

The congress will address these burning issues to help you bring your business into the present and make it ready for the future.

Program
The program is both interesting and challenging and we are especially pleased to announce that Michael Porter will be one of the speakers, concentrating on Shared Value Creation. The first day focuses on corporate vision, research and best practices for 2020 with CEO level top speakers of multinationals, science institutes and representatives from developing and emerging economies. On the second day examples of existing practices and their dilemmas in various value-chains will be shared in in-depth workshops and learning sessions.

The 2011 congress will build on the success of the first ISMC in 2010 with 1200 participants from businesses, science, government and civil society interested in creating innovative, sustainable value chains.
