Internet Society Appoints Check Point Fellow

Fellow, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Internet Society (ISOC), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing global leadership in Internet related standards, education and policy. Hinden’s appointment is a testament to his expertise in developing technology used to build and secure the Internet – and validates Check Point’s ongoing commitment towards promoting the open development, evolution and secure use of the Web.

Hinden brings over 25 years of security and Internet experience to the ISOC Board of Trustees. As a Check Point Fellow, he researches, evaluates and provides technical guidance on product development; in addition, he served leadership roles at Nokia, Sun Microsystems and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the Internet’s premiere technical standards body. During Hinden’s term, effective between 2010 and 2013, he will provide strategic guidance on core areas of ISOC’s mission, including the open development of standards, protocols, administration, technical infrastructure of the Internet and guidance on critical information security initiatives. The Internet Society’s Board of Trustees consists of 12 members, comprised of industry leaders ininformation technology, security, academic and the global Internet community, each elected by the chapters, organization members and the Internet Architecture Board (IAB).
