INTSPEI Sponsors the First Ukrainian ACM Workshop

The International Software & Productivity Engineering Institute (INTSPEI) announced today that it will partner with Ukrainian ACM Chapter in the sponsorship of their first workshop "Technologies for Information Search and Retrieval in Business and Education" being held on October 20, 2008 in Kiev, Ukraine.Workshop program includes a keynote presentation by academician of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Dr. Phillipp Andon, technical talks by experts in information access and retrieval, and general discussion on the topic.

Ukrainian Chapter of the ACM was established at the beginning of 2008 with the aim to support the development of scientific and professional computing knowledge in Ukraine. This workshop will be the first from the planned quarterly ACM events in Ukraine and was also supported by industry leaders like Microsoft and FAST.

"ACM is the oldest and the most recognized professional community of software engineers and we are proud to initiate and support this educational event." said Ivan Poyda, General Manager of the Ukrainian Branch of INTSPEI. "I am sure that the workshop will draw the interest of students, scientists and software developers of information search systems and helps us to develop strong ACM community in Ukraine".
