Invensys to ImplementWell Field Applicationfor XTO Energy

APRIL 21, 2010/PLANO, TEXAS – Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of technology systems, software solutions and consulting services to the manufacturing and infrastructure operations industries, today announced that it has signed a contract to provide its Well Field Application to XTO Energy, Inc., one of the largest independent gas producers in the United States.

Under the terms of the agreement, Invensys will supply XTO Energy with a suite of software that will precisely monitor, manage and optimize XTO Energy’s operations and assets throughout its enterprise to help drive productivity excellence. The integrated well field management solution will support XTO Energy’s upstream gas operations with configurable software running on Invensys Operations Management’s Wonderware® System Platform. It will manage more than 10,000 wells, helping to monitor and optimize XTO Energy’s gas production throughout North America. Invensys will also provide ongoing training, development and support services.

“As one of the nation’s leading producers of natural gas, XTO Energy needed a robust, scalable field management platform capable of supporting their growing production and delivery demands,” said John M Gilmore, Jr., director, upstream oil & gas, Invensys Operations Management. “The Invensys Well Field Application will provide XTO Energy field personnel with the information they need to improve the performance of their assets in real time.”

The Invensys Well Field Application allows XTO Energy employees to review the performance of all the assets under their control, identifying which are underperforming and quickly zeroing in on the cause and fix for the problem. Personnel can view asset trends displays, adding new parameters as needed, and authorized operators can make changes to well head and field controls from within the solution, using the standard faceplate for the particular control device.
