New York, NY, USA, August 10, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) -Ivannia Lasso’s acrylic and collage works on canvas transcend the expectations of normal painting through sheer visceral appeal. Chiefly interested in the collective imagery of urbanity, Lasso chooses the people, places and things along her daily commute through Costa Rica’s capital city San José as her primary subject matter. From the aesthetics of urban decay to the architectonics of city living, her works offer an imprint of the collective temporal memory of her hometown.
Ivannia Lasso majored in Art and Visual Communications with an emphasis on painting at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica.
