JAJAH, Telefónica to bring voice services to Microsoft Lync Online
Mountain View - JAJAH, the world’s most innovative communications company, today announced they will add voice calling to Microsoft Lync Online, Microsoft’s cloud-based next-generation communications and collaboration service when the product launches later this year.
As part of the partnership, Telefónica (NYSE: TEF), which owns JAJAH, will market the voice calling service to its millions of business customers around the world.
Microsoft selected JAJAH to provide Lync Online users the ability to call landlines and mobile phones and the ability to receive calls and route them to any device – landline, mobile or computer – without requiring a new telephone number. The new service will be fully integrated into Microsoft Lync Online and offered around the world via the Microsoft and Telefonica networks.
"Once JAJAH became part of Telefónica we saw the combination of powerful platform with global scale and infrastructure, which made JAJAH the obvious choice for a project of this magnitude", said Gurdeep Singh Pall, CVP Lync Product Development.
"We are delighted to be selected by Microsoft as this is another validation of JAJAH’s global IP Communications Platform," said Trevor Healy, Chief Innovation Officer of Telefónica Europe. "Microsoft has led the way in using the Cloud to help businesses communicate and operate efficiently. JAJAH is helping Microsoft and its business customers by adding reliable and high quality IP voice services to Lync Online, making global communication and collaboration a simple reality."
"Microsoft and JAJAH share a vision for businesses and individuals to be able to communicate and talk anywhere, on any device, at any time," said Steve Alder, CEO JAJAH. "Using the Cloud and JAJAH’s global IP Communications Platform, we are providing businesses the highest quality, most affordable communication and collaboration services."
JAJAH’s IP Communications Platform brings together a global IP backbone, PSTN termination and SIP trunking, as well as patented quality management, which ensures calls over the JAJAH Network are of the highest quality. It is used by mobile operators, technology and Internet companies to bring high quality, affordable calling services to their customers.
