James Hooks To Attend 26th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles
Entrepreneur, activist and founder of American Credit Start to join thousands of others at Hollywood Park on October 17th, 2010
James Hooks, entrepreneur, author and founder of American Credit Start, will be joining the stars of Hollywood and thousands of others for the 26th Annual AIDS Walk event in Los Angeles, CA.
On Sunday, October 17, 2010, an expected 30,000 walkers, and dozens of celebrities and elected officials, will gather in West Hollywood Park, to raise money for AIDS Project Los Angeles and other important Los Angeles County AIDS service organizations. This year marks the 26th year of AIDS Walk Los Angeles, the world’s first and California’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraising event.
AIDS Walk Los Angeles is one of the biggest, most diverse, and highly anticipated annual events in Los Angeles. Last year, a passionate crowd of 30,000 walkers and 2,500 volunteers raised more than $3.15 million for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and advocacy programs. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $66 million to fight the disease in Los Angeles County, and the AIDS Walk movement has raised more than a half-billion nationwide.
This year’s new marketing campaign acknowledges the extraordinary work of thousands of dedicated participants as it reinvigorates the public’s attention to the HIV/AIDS crisis. Under the heading, “I Walk…” the artwork features photographs of a spectrum of Angelenos wearing white T-shirts that illustrate each of their personal relationships with the HIV/AIDS crisis in Los Angeles County.
The 10k (6.2 mile) AIDS Walk route begins and ends in West Hollywood Park, and the crowd will stroll through West Hollywood and Hollywood.
