CSAM (100 G Services Application Module) provides the industry’s smallest ultra-portable 100 G tester
March 11, 2014 — JDSU today announces the new CSAM (100G Services Application Module) that allows core network technicians to test 100 G circuits based on their testing needs. Leveraging next-generation CFP2 optics along with QSFP+ optics, users can install the CSAM in the T-BERD®/MTS-6000A test platform for the industry’s smallest ultra-portable 100 G tester. Alternatively, technicians can install the CSAM in the T-BERD/MTS-8000 to create the industry’s smallest central-office-compatible dual-port 100 G field tester. This compact tool can test T1/E1 to 100 G and virtually all interfaces in between. It provides a combined 100 G network and fiber optics test solution featuring optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) and fiber characterization (OTDR, CD, PMD, and Attenuation Profile) capability.
Ultra-portable 100 G testing — Core network technicians can now easily test 100 G connections both in the central office and in the field without hauling around bulky equipment.
Eliminate CFP2 optics problems — Remove problems associated with new optics with the only field-optimized CFP2 optics self-test.
Commission and maintain OTU3 and OTU4 with confidence — Field-proven OTN tests reduce test time by simultaneously testing payload BERT, GCC transparency, and G.709-based round-trip latency. ODU multiplexing capability allows for sectionalization of OTN-related problems.
Easily activate and troubleshoot 100 GE and 40 GE services — Automate Ethernet testing to save time and increase consistency with the most advanced Ethernet test suite, including RFC 2544, Y.1564 SAMComplete, 100 G committed burst size (CBS), and J-Proof Ethernet control plane transparency tests.
