JDSU Selected by BT to Provide HST-3000 Broadband Access Testers

Milpitas, Calif., January 20, 2010– JDSU today announced that Openreach, the local access network division of BT Group, one of the world's leading providers of communications solutions and services, has selected JDSU’s industry-leading HST-3000 handheld broadband access tester. The JDSU HST-3000 was selected by Openreach as one of its tester suppliers for its ability to support broadband network performance, reduce costly truck rolls, and to ensure customer service level agreements are met with the highest standard of quality. 

BT Group plans to deliver advanced broadband services at speeds of 40 Mbits/s to 10 million premises in the U.K. by 2012. The JDSU HST-3000 supports the cost-effective installation and maintenance of these services. Openreach owns and manages the local access network that connects homes and businesses across the U.K. and provides network services to communications providers.

Deployed by service providers worldwide for the installation and maintenance testing of next-generation FTTx technologies and services, the JDSU HST-3000 tests the physical layer, verifies services and improves network operations processes. Designed to address virtually every test challenge from the network edge to the premises for both copper and fiber-based services, the HST-3000 equips field technicians with an accurate solution to turn-up communications services and to isolate and resolve network impairments.
