John presented on the theme of ‘Smart Grid & Energy Storage – requirements of policy & regulatory intervention – implementation challenges. Are Indian utilities ready for Smart Grids & metering? International Case Studies.’ which was followed by a questions and answers session. During his presentation, John described the opportunity for India to develop, manufacture and deploy standardised, low cost smart meters in India and how this represents both an opportunity for the utility companies as well as for exports to other countries with similar needs.
