JUNIORS: Academy batsman Salt wins Travel Places Player of the Month

Phil Salt of the Sussex Academy was today named as the Travel Places Player of the Month for August.

Batsman Salt, who turned 18 last week, played the innings of the year in Youth Cricket during August, to follow up his earlier 147 not out against Preston Nomads in June, for the Development XI in the Sussex Premier League.

He cracked an unbeaten 200 from only 129 balls against Horsham at Cricket Field Road, a knock that included an incredible nineteen fours and nine sixes. Later on in the month he scored 51 from 33 balls against the eventual Sussex Premier League winners Roffey in a losing cause and has also contributed for the Second Eleven during the month.
