Rochester, NY – Harris Seeds’ 2010-2011 Professional Vegetable & Cut Flower Growers’ Seed Catalog has been published and mailed! The 144 page catalog features hundreds of high-quality vegetable and cut flower seed varieties, including many new 2011 introductions. Featured new items include outstanding augmented supersweet corn varieties, high-performing peppers and tomatoes, and other excellent varieties for Farmers’ Markets, roadside stands, CSA’s, and wholesale vegetable farms.
Harris Seeds has also expanded their selection for organic and sustainable growers, focusing on varieties that taste great, perform in the field, and resist disease. This season, growers will find 41 additional untreated varieties, for a total of 270 untreated and organic vegetable cultivars, plus 170 untreated cut flower varieties.

In addition to the expansive selection of vegetable seed varieties, growers will also find market leading field-grown cut flowers, fruit trees and plants, and growing supplies. The Harris Seeds company began its catalog operation in 1879. It evolved from the efforts of Joseph Harris, an English immigrant who became extremely successful in the selection of superior strains of vegetables and grains.

Joseph Harris settled in the Genesee Valley Region of Western New York in the 1850’s. His success as a seedsman led to the beginning of Harris Seeds in 1879.
