Longmont, Colo. (April 9, 2014) – On Thursday, April 10, Feed The Children and Kenneth Copeland Ministries will deliver one semi tractor-trailer full of food and essentials to 400 Longmont area children and families affected by flooding in the Longmont Colorado area. The food and essentials will be distributed on Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at The Plaza Center in Longmont (1900 Ken Pratt Blvd).
Kenneth Copeland Ministries is a long time Feed The Children supporter and is sponsoring the event. They have also pre-identified families receiving the boxes. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
Nearly one in five children living in Longmont (17.1 percent) is considered impoverished. In fact, the number of children living in poverty in Colorado (224,000) could fill the Pepsi Center more than 11 times.
“We are so thankful to Kenneth Copeland Ministries for helping to provide food and essentials to children and their families,” said Erin Engelke, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "We hope people will help us put more trucks on the road and provide assistance for fellow Americans who are suffering through the current economic downturn.”
