Abstract

President Donald J. Trump pledged to minimize regulatory burdens on financial institutions and the financial system. While the new administration has yet to offer a specific policy agenda for financial regulation, expect that they may include important changes such as the revision of the Dodd-Frank Act, the possible reinstatement of Glass-Steagall Act, and a moratorium on new agency regulations. The shift of leadership on important federal agencies including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Federal Reserve, and the Securities and Exchange Commission are also likely to have a significant impact on the financial regulatory agenda. In this LIVE Webcast, a panel of distinguished professionals and thought leaders organized by The Knowledge Group will offer insights on the Trump Administration's likely agenda for financial regulatory reform and potential changes in enforcement priorities. They will also discuss the substantive and procedural implications of these changes on the financial regulation framework.
