KM Cherian awarded the presidency of World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons (WSCTS)

Dr. K.M. Cherian, the leading Cardio Thoracic Surgeon from Chennai and the founder of Frontier Lifeline Hospital has been chosen as the President of World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons. This is the first time an Indian is chosen for this prestigious position.

K. M. Cherian has been designated as the President of World Society of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons for the year 2010-2011. This is the first time this privilege has been given to an Indian.

This honor was bestowed upon Dr. K.M. Cherian following the outstanding success of the combined event of WSCTS 20th World Congress & 6th Global Forum on Humanitarian Medicine held at CTC, Chennai, between 20th and 23rd October 2010.

On being awarded the presidency, Dr. K. M. Cherian, Chairman & CEO, Frontier Lifeline said, “I am immensely pleased with this honor. This academic event has been an extraordinary platform to showcase our commitment towards basic cardiac sciences, research and environmental protection. It’s a proud moment to be the first Indian to receive this honor”

The presidency will be handed over to Prof Roland Hetzer of Berlin in 2011 – 2012.
