“Knowledge and Mercy. A Journey through Sapienza’s Books” explores the constant dialogue amongst scientific knowledge, the culture of sharing and the availability to help others through the exhibition of old tomes produced between the 16th and 19th centuries. The aim of the exhibition is to involve students, citizens and experts in a general reflection on the religious and lay meaning of this debate.
Sapienza’s Library System, in collaboration with the National Civil Service, will showcase old manuscripts and books from four departmental libraries: Environmental Biology, Earth Sciences, Medicine and Oriental Studies.
The exhibition, which will be held at the Classical Art Museum, will be inaugurated on Monday, December 5 by Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio and Director General Carlo Musto D’Amore.
The exhibition will remain open until January 30, 2017 as part of the Jubilee events.
