New York City, New York, United States., July 22, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) - The Knowledge Group/The Knowledge Congress Live Webcast Series, the leading producer of regulatory focused webcasts, announced today that it has scheduled a live webcast entitled: Myanmar: The Next Tiger? This two-hour event is scheduled on July 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET.

Event Synopsis:

From 1970 to 2012, Myanmar’s GDP rose USD 56.7 billion, resulting in a 2012 estimated GDP of USD 59.4 billion.  Having been a former military state, Myanmar had minimal infrastructure for international investors when the new quasi-civilian government came to power in 2011.  Substantial economic and political reforms have been implemented since then, which laid the ground for foreign companies to again conduct business in the country. The government of President U Thein Sein has developed during the past 18 months a new legal infrastructure, which has paved the way for foreign and domestic investors to respond in droves (Myanmar foreign investment has been doubling since 2011 at a rate of 50%, year over year, with current GDP growth rate exceeding 8%).  Due to its ample and diverse supply of natural resources, literate and available work force, and strategic geographical location, analysts have forecasted that Myanmar might become Asia’s next economic Tiger, more than quadrupling its GDP in the next twenty years.  In this Knowledge Group LIVE webcast, a panel of U.S. companies’ and law firms’ representatives which already have operations in Myanmar, senior officials from the U.S. Departments of State and the Treasury, and representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AMCHAM Myanmar Chapter will teach viewers how small, medium and large businesses across the United States can take advantage of Myanmar’s economic potential, current opportunities, and the rules for doing business there.

Attending this course will provide the tools you need to understand how to grow and expand your business in order to successfully participate in the rapidly growing Myanmar market, joining Chevron, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Ford, GM, Colgate, APR Energy, and many others.  Advanced registration is recommended as space is limited.
