KVH's Tri-Americas LNB for the TracVision HD7 Makes it Easy to Enjoy DIRECTV Latin America
In October, KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) established a new standard for satellite TV at sea with the revolutionary new TracVision® HD7, the only compact maritime satellite TV antenna to simultaneously track three Ka- and Ku-band DIRECTV® satellites and offer a DIRECTV HD experience just like at home. Today, KVH expanded the versatility of this groundbreaking new antenna with the introduction of the new Ka/Ku-band Tri-Americas™ LNB for the TracVision HD7.
New option allows boaters who travel throughout the Americas to enjoy DIRECTV HD and DIRECTV Latin America programming without hardware changes
MIDDLETOWN, RI February 11, 2010 In October, KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) established a new standard for satellite TV at sea with the revolutionary new TracVision®HD7, the only compact maritime satellite TV antenna to simultaneously track three Ka- and Ku-band DIRECTV®satellites and offer a DIRECTV HD experience just like at home. Today, KVH expanded the versatility of this groundbreaking new antenna with the introduction of the new Ka/Ku-band Tri-Americas LNB for the TracVision HD7. This new option makes it possible for mariners to switch seamlessly from DIRECTVs Ka- and Ku-band satellites in U.S. waters to DIRECTV Latin America service as their boats travel throughout the Caribbean and the Americas.
Switching between DIRECTV service in the U.S. and DIRECTV Latin America service in Central and South America is typically a labor-intensive process that involves climbing up to the antenna and changing out hardware, says Jim George, KVHs director of satellite sales. By combining our patent-pending TriAD technology with our new Ka/Ku-band Tri-Americas LNB, weve eliminated that inconvenience and made the most advanced marine satellite TV system available even better. All a boat owner needs to do is turn on a different receiver when they travel among the DIRECTV and DIRECTV Latin America coverage areas. Now boaters can easily enjoy the same great DIRECTV HD they get at home as well as the exciting programming available from DIRECTV Latin America. The TracVision HD7 with KVHs Tri-Americas LNB is absolutely the most convenient satellite TV system for vessels that cruise throughout the Americas and the Caribbean.
KVHs TracVision HD7 is a breakthrough in maritime satellite TV design. Its TriAD antenna technology simultaneously receives signals from all three primary DIRECTV satellites, tracks those satellites even as the boat cruises at high speeds and through rough seas, and offers a DIRECTV HD experience just like at home, including full support for Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) on boats.
The Ka/Ku-band Tri-Americas LNB is now available as a factory-built configuration of the TracVision HD7, as well as an upgrade for existing TracVision HD7 systems that have been shipping nationwide since December 2009. A Ku-band only Tri-Americas LNB is also available for KVHs award-winning TracVision M-series systems.
