Laboratory Testing Inc. Announces Promotions in the Nondestructive Testing Ultrasonic Testing Department
Growth in immersion and contact ultrasonic testing at Laboratory Testing Inc. has led to promotions in the NDT Ultrasonic Testing Department. Two UT Supervisors and an ultrasonic testing specialist for training, quoting and technical questions were announced.
Hatfield, PA, United States, November 1, 2011 - (PressReleasePoint) - Sales growth has prompted Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) to create new positions and promote employees in the company’s Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Department. The Department utilizes five high-speed immersion systems to inspect round material as small as 1/8 inch outside diameter and up to 70 feet in length. There is also a C-Scan immersion tank for testing oversized material up to 16 feet long and up to a weight of 3000 pounds, and contact equipment for materials outside these ranges.
As part of the changes, Steve Walmsley of Souderton, PA will complete the UT Level III certification exam. The 20-year employee of LTI’s Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Department was most recently the UT Department Supervisor (1st shift). He will be responsible for personnel training, evaluating test results, quoting ultrasonic testing orders and answering technical questions related to ultrasonic testing.
Mike Martin has replaced Walmsley as the UT Department Supervisor on first shift. He will oversee UT staffing, order scheduling, order processing, quality control and supply management for ultrasonic testing. The Barto, PA resident has been with Laboratory Testing Inc. for three years and previously held the position of UT Technician. Martin received his training in ultrasonic testing and other NDT methods while serving in the US Marine Corp for six years.
Bill King of North Wales, PA has accepted the new position of UT Supervisor (2nd shift). He was employed by LTI for two years as a UT Technician and will now oversee the staff and orders processed on the second shift. King is a certified ASNT Level III in UT and has been performing ultrasonic testing for 16 years.
