Leading UK Leather Bed Manufacturer Admits Customers Prefer Faux over Genuine Leather in the Recession
Leading UK leather bed retailer and manufacturer LeatherDoubleBed.org.uk announced today that customers have switched their buying habits from genuine leather to faux leather due to the recession.
Kirkcaldy, UK, November 27, 2009 (PressReleasePoint) -- Leading UK leather bed retailer and manufacturer Leatherdoublebed.org.uk announced today that customers have switched their buying habits from genuine leather to faux leather due to the recession.
The big difference between the two is price so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. The average price of a real leather bed is between £400 and £500, whereas a faux leather bed averages between £150 and £300 for a regular double bed frame. In the past year genuine leather bed sales have fallen a massive 42% whilst faux leather bed sales have risen over 75% in the same period.
Leather bed frames have slowly been becoming more and more popular. This is down to the big rise in contemporary and modern design, not only that but they are easier to look after and can be used in a number of different settings.
Rebekah Lowe an interior designer to large hotel chains and famous London celebrities said “Leather beds are commonplace in 5 star hotels all over the world, this is because Leather oozes elegance and luxury like no other material.”
On the subject of faux leather beds Rebekah said “I would never recommend a fake leather bed to a luxury hotel as every little detail is under the spotlight but for the home they are fine, just be sure to have look at your bed before you buy it, as some fake leather can be of really poor quality”.
