Lendlease Breakers coach Joanne Broadbent today announced a 13-strong squad for the opening weekend of the WNCL.

The Lendlease Breakers, who are the current WNCL title holders, will be playing two games in the WNCL opening weekend. The first, taking place on Friday, 6 October, will be a replay of last season’s final against Queensland Fire. The second, taking place on Sunday, 8 October, will see the Breakers take on old rivals Victoria.

Commenting on the squad selection for the WNCL opening weekend, coach Joanne Broadbent said, “We are in the rare position where we have a 19-strong squad, full of highly-skilled players, a number of whom have represented Australia at either a development or open level, and everyone is putting their hands up.

“The team have all worked hard in the offseason. They are extremely fit and had some great performances during our practice games.”

“This has made selecting the squad for this weekend a challenge, but a good one and we are expecting to see some really competitive cricket, where we are tested and testing our opponents.”
