Falls Church, Va., August 20, 2014 – ENSCO is pleased to announce that John Thomason, a 19-year employee of ENSCO, was recognized by Todd Pardue, Assistant Director, Product Acquisition and Deployment Directorate of the DHS Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) for his performance on a program aimed at preventing nuclear terrorism.

Thomason has been a key member of the ENSCO Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) team supporting this critical national mission since 2005. In the letters received by Dr. Michael Glass, Vice President, National Security Solutions Division, Pardue recognized Thomason for his efforts to help “DNDO and its stakeholders improve the security of the nation by acquiring and deploying needed capability for the Global Nuclear Detection Architecture.”

The DNDO letter also referenced Thomason’s program performance, stating, “[His] program management knowledge and technical expertise were critical to the formulation of the Radiation Interdiction Technology for Conveyances Program strategy and the efforts to stand up the Border Patrol Checkpoint Program. [His] ability to bring stakeholders to the table, draft high-quality programmatic documentation, and to resolve technical issues set these programs up for success.”

In Thomason’s nine years supporting DNDO, he has held several critical positions in support of this national mission to protect the United States from the potential of nuclear terrorism. The mission of DNDO is to serve as the unique federal interagency organization with a singular focus on preventing nuclear terrorism.

Prior to joining ENSCO, Thomason was a member of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a pilot flying the Western Pacific version of the Hurricane Hunters mission. His last Air Force assignment brought him to the Washington, D.C., area, where he was an R&D Program Manager with the Defense Nuclear Agency (now the Defense Threat Reduction Agency).
