UBM presents a three day exhibition, Mumbai Jewellery& Gem Fair 2013, at Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai on 5th-7th January 2013. This would be the first time that apex bodies across the country. Exhibitors are participating from countries including Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Sri Lanka & Thailand.In an effort to highlight the machinery skills and techniques essential to jewellery making, UBM will be dedicating a pavilion solely to machinery companies to benefit the trade.


Mumbai, Maharashtra, India., December 31, 2012 - (PressReleasePoint) -Serving the heart of India’s huge US$27.12 billion jewellery market, UBM presents a three day exhibition, Mumbai Jewellery& Gem Fair 2013, at Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai on 5th-7th  January 2013. This would be the first time that associations across India like Nashik Saraf Association, Nagpur Saraf Association, Aurangabad Saraf Association, Ahmedabad Jewellers Association, Pune Saraf Association, Mumbai Wholesale Gold Jewelers Association and Mumbai Diamond Merchants Association will come forward to discuss and close the gap which exists in the industry.
Jewellers and industry membersfrom Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will also participate. Exhibitors are participating from countries including Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Sri Lanka & Thailand.In an effort to highlight the machinery skills and techniques essential to jewellery making, UBM will be dedicating a pavilion solely to machinery companies to benefit the trade.
In addition to providing a trading platform, the event will host a series of knowledge sharing sessions in conjunction with the best in the business including eBay, GIA and more. Panel discussions with top retailers, notable jewellery designers and more prominent figures are set to spark conversations on hot topics in the industry.

Skill development in Maharashtra is a major issue in the jewellery industry.  There are approximately 1700 vyaparis who seek guidance from the State Government. Most of the jewellers have been adhering to measures like excise duty, hallmarking, weight to name a few.” He further added, “ Every city of Maharashtra can contribute to the growth of the industry if local policies are streamlined to benefit the traders and jewellers in order to create a platform for ethical trade practices.”
