The two qualifying teams for the ICC 2015 Cricket World Cup which is only 200 days away will travel to Canberra for training and to play two matches each.

The training and matches are part of the ICC’s High Performance Programme (HPP), and will assist the team’s preparations for the biggest sporting event in the world in 2015.

Afghanistan will be the first team to play matches against the ACT Comets at Manuka Oval with one day fixtures scheduled for Friday 26th and Sunday 28th September. For many of the Afghanistan team members it will be their first time in Australia.

The Comets will then take on Ireland nearly a fortnight later with matches taking place on Tuesday 7th October and Thursday 9th October at Manuka Oval.

All four matches shape up as a wonderful opportunity for local ACT Comets players to test their skills against international cricketers.
