Marlborough Based Good Neighbor Award Recipient, Sepaton Gives Back to Community

For Third Year, Global Backup Solutions Leader Backs Up United Way Effort to Make Holidays Happy for Hometown Families in Need

MARLBOROUGH, MA. – December 18, 2013 - Sepaton, Inc. headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts and maker of the world’s fastest backup and recovery solutions, once again delivered on its corporate commitment to giving back to the local community.

As part of the annual Hope for the Holidays program, Sepaton has partnered with United Way, reaching out to help ten low-income families and 28 children in the Marlborough area. Families previously identified as having extremely limited resources while struggling to meet their most basic needs of food and clothing are this year’s recipients of Sepaton’s generous financial and gift contributions to the Hope for the Holidays program. In addition to toys and gifts, Sepaton is also giving each family gift cards for groceries and food.

Earlier this year, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Amy Lipton, on behalf of Sepaton and its employees, accepted the “Good Neighbor Award” before hundreds of United Way supporters and community leaders. At the award ceremony, Ms. Lipton expressed how honored she was to receive such a special award on behalf of the generous and giving employees of Sepaton. “Being able to connect with these families and children is a highlight of our year,” said Ms. Lipton, “and it is our pleasure to support this important annual program.”

Mike Thompson, President and CEO of Sepaton, Inc. believes that although it is Sepaton’s ongoing corporate responsibility to be a good neighbor and partner in the local Marlborough community, he sees the outreach work they are doing as being something significantly more.

“Giving back while being a good neighbor is an essential pillar of our corporate responsibility mission,” said Mr. Thompson, “but being able to help individual families makes it very personal and meaningful for all of us. As a company and as area residents, we are very much a part of this community and want to make sure our neighbors’ needs are being met. At this time of year, this is something we can do to assist those who need our help.”

Lisa Kenney, Sepaton employee and organizer of Sepaton’s community outreach initiatives, believes that Sepaton’s giving back mission is so successful because of overwhelming company-wide employee engagement. Both Mr. Thompson and Ms. Lipton agree.

In fact, instead of each child receiving one gift from their wish lists, Sepaton employees made it possible for every child we “adopted” to receive more gifts. That brings the holiday spirit home for all of us.”
