Marsh and Maplecroft will hold a complimentary, one-hour webcast on December 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. (EST) on managing existing and emerging political risk. During the webcast, Maplecroft will preview the co-branded “2014 Political Risk Map” and introduce its “Political Risk Atlas.”

The webcast will highlight key trends in emerging political risks for 2014 and beyond and:

  • Introduce the Political Risk Atlas 2014 and explain the data used to create the map.
  • Summarize the key findings from the 2014 atlas, including global and regional trends for societally forced regime change risk.
  • Identify key drivers of risk trends and forecast risk and opportunity hotspots using data from the previous six years.

About the Political Risk Map

Marsh and Maplecroft have again collaborated to design the 2014 Marsh Maplecroft Political Risk Map.  Designed as a visual tool for investors and traders in emerging markets, the Map draws upon data from Maplecroft’s Political Risk Atlas, which, in its sixth year, provides a comprehensive appraisal of political risks across 197 countries. The atlas divides political risks into two categories:

  • Dynamic risks, which can change rapidly over a relatively short period, including regime stability, the rule of law, corruption, conflict and terrorism, expropriation, the business environment and the macroeconomic context.
  • Structural risks, which evolve over time and are often ingrained features of a society, including human rights violations, societal wellbeing and living standards, resource security and quality of infrastructure.

In addition to the physical map, clients of Marsh Political Risk and Trade Credit are invited to use certain online resources for an interactive display of key political risks.
