MASSAGE Magazine was honored with a Charlie Award at the 2009 Florida Magazine Association (FMA) Charlie Awards gala. The prestigious Charlie Awards competition, which is held each summer, rewards magazine excellence from around the state.

MASSAGE Magazine was recognized for its 2008 Special Business Issue, which won in the category “Best Special Theme or Show Issue” by a trade/technical publication. Charlie Awards are presented in 75 categories, including areas of general excellence, editorial excellence, design excellence and printing excellence. The coveted Charlie Award is the highest award given by the FMA.

"Our editors strive to make every issue of MASSAGE Magazine informative and interesting to our readers," said Editor-in-Chief Karen Menehan. "Our first-place Charlie Award is confirmation that we're hitting the mark."

According to the FMA, the Charlie Awards represent the pinnacle of achievement in Florida magazine publishing. Judges for the competition include leading writers, editors, photographers and graphic designers from outside of Florida.

This year’s awards were presented at the FMA’s Annual Conference, which took place August 6-7 at Universal Orlando’s Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, Florida. A full list of winners is featured on FMA’s Web site, floridamagazine.org. To learn more about MASSAGE Magazine’s 2008 Special Business Issue, visit http://www.massagemag.com/business2008.
