MD Logistics announces management changes
01 December 2009
Appointments include new VP Distribution and VP Freight Forwarding and Value-Added Solutions
Plainfield-based MD Logistics Inc. has made some changes to its executive staff following the retirement of General Manager Bob Whitney. Filling two new executive positions, Jeff Luthman assumes the role of Vice President of Distribution Operations and John Sell has been appointed Vice President of Freight Forwarding and Value-Added Solutions.
Jeff Luthman will be responsible for both the dedicated and shared pharmaceutical business as well as consumer electronics. He will continue in his current role of strategic business development.
John Sell, in his expanded role, will continue to oversee business development in both sales and operations of freight forwarding activities, including SEKO Worldwide and MD Express. He will also be responsible for shared logistics operations. This is a natural progression as the Company’s shared logistics operations integrate with its freight forwarding and freight management offering.
Additionally, Chad Hodges has been promoted to Director of Logistics Services, and Tim Lawyer will replace Hodges as Manager of Shared Logistics. He will be responsible for MD Packaging Services and shared pharmaceutical logistics, and will take the lead role in the development and deployment of the Company’s new warehouse management system scheduled for 2010.
